A POPULAR charity football match on Anglesey will return once again this year.
The Amlwch Town v Port game has been a highly-anticipated feature on the island’s calendar for several years.
Taking place annually on Boxing Day, the fundraiser aims to collect money for local charities and events, with a few in particular in mind this time around.
"This year we'll be raising money towards bringing Copper Fest back to the Town," said Alan Gray, who took over as organiser in 2011.
"Our local community group #CaruAmlwch are currently raising funds to install a park and 5 a side court in Craig-y-Don so we hope to help them and the RNLI lifeboat team too."
Over the last three years, the fundraising day, which also includes an auction and raffles, has raised over £10,000 for local causes
"This year, we have a signed Paul Scholes picture and a signed Wales football shirt, amongst a few other bits and bobs," Alan added.
"We're very excited but it could not be achieved without support and help. Amlwch Town FC have been brilliant by offering us kits, footballs and the use of the Lon Bach pitch."
"It’s a great privilege to do something that my hometown can benefit from."
