THE "QUEEN BEE" of Anglesey is still buzzing after her success at a glittering awards ceremony for entrepeneurs.

Katie Hayward, who runs Felin Honeybees, at Cemlyn, Cemaes, has been named runner up in the Small Business section of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards ,2018.

The Chronicle recently reported that Katie's home and business were at risk from the nearby Horizon Wylfa Newydd nuclear development.

She received her award dressed in a bee costume, at the Mercure Holland House, Cardiff, on Thursday November 22. The awards were presented by Wynne Evans, of BBC Radio Wales and known as the "Go Compare" Opera singer and entrepeneur Oli Barrett.

Katie said: "We were nominated, then went in front of a judging panel of entrepreneurs such as James Caan from Dragons Den and Hayley Parsons the founder of Go Compare.

"There was over 3,000 entries and eight amazing companies shortlisted. To be a runner up has been very humbling. We have received so much support not only from Anglesey but from right across the UK for what we do here at Felinhoneybees. I will always strive to lead the company in the best way which is all about our environment, the people we help, our ethics but above all our little bees."
