A TINY trapped crying kitten was rescued from a car engine after hitching a ride to Llandefgan.

The little cat was pulled out from under the bonnet of a vehicle on Saturday.

Rescued by an RSPCA inspector the kitten is thought to be around seven weeks.

Inspector Mike Pugh said: “The caller heard the sound of a kitten crying out from under the bonnet of her car, but when they lifted up the bonnet the kitten quickly hid in a space behind the engine.

“As the car is normally locked away in a garage the caller believes the kitten may have hitched a ride when she went to Waitrose the day before.”

After playing hide and seek with the mewing moggy, which was stuck inside the engine, Inspector Pugh finally managed to retrieve her.

“This kitten was scared and was visibly shaking, so it was a relief to finally be able to get her out of the engine,” he said.

“Once at an animal centre she was offered some food which she ate ravenously and placed in a warm heated bed.

"In no time the kitten began to purr and craved attention from anyone who offered it. Luckily she wasn’t injured in any way. She’s been nicknamed Rose - after Waitrose!”

The kitten wasn’t microchipped, so we are unable to trace an owner. If anyone has any information about this kitten please contact the inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.

If an owner is not found, she will be made available for rehoming in the near future.
