THOUSANDS of people joined in with the festive spirit as the annual Victorian Christmas Fair returned to Beaumaris.

Held throughout Saturday and Sunday, the popular event attracted people from all over the UK as the Anglesey town was taken back in time.

Artificial snow gave the streets a real wintery look, whilst people of all ages donned Victorian era clothing to make sure the event lived up to its name and reputation.

Children had the opportunity to see Santa and his elves at his grotto at the Bulkeley Hotel and also had fun on the bouncy castles.

Several stalls full of food, drink and handmade gifts lined the streets and the Beaumaris Brass Band and Miv, Kev and Dave kept guests entertained with live performances throughout both days.

One of the organisers for the fair said: "Well that's us over for another year now, but we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made it both possible and successful once again.

"We took a gamble doing it over two days this year but I think it worked quite well. Thank you to every single one of you that made the effort to come and support us - especially to all our amazing volunteers who we could not have done without.

"We would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas."

They added that support on social media leading up to the event had also been a "very big help" in terms of supporting their event.

As always, horse and carriage rides were part of the event too as guests were able to take a trip through the historic town and experience a real Victorian treat.

The fair's parade set off from Beaumaris pier at around 5pm before making their way down Castle Street towards the iconic castle.

Upon arriving there, the Christmas tree lights were switched on and guests enjoyed a colourful fireworks display.
