AN ICONIC Caernarfon Castle scene involving the Queen and Prince Charles was recreated earlier today.

Netflix drama 'The Crown' took the town back in time to 1969 as Olivia Colman (The Queen) and Josh O'Connor (Prince Charles) waved at crowds from the balcony druing scenes filmed this morning.

Hundreds of extras dressed as royal supporters have gathered in Caernarfon as show producers Left Bank Company recreated the Prince of Wales' Investiture.

The Royal Procession was re-enacted and filming ended with Colman and O'Connor greeting the crowds from the Queen's Gate.

Caernarfon itself has been dressed in bunting and Union Jack flags with filming set to last until tomorrow.
