A CENTRE which provides employment and training for people with learning disabilities has been put forward for a national award.

Antur Waunfawr is shortlisted for the Health and Social Care Award at the UK Social Business awards in London, on November 28. It follows the organisation's recent success, scooping the Welsh Health and Social Care Social Enterprise of the Year Award, delivered by the Wales Co-Op, at a ceremony in Cardiff in September.

Antur Waunfawr provides activities including cycling, fitness classes and horse-riding. Menna Jones, chief executive at Antur Waunfawr, said: "We're delighted to have been shortlisted for this top UK award. It's testament to the dedication of our staff who work hard to provide a top quality care service for adults with disabilities in their community."
