A FORMER member of a popular boy band is set to take part in a 'Meet and Greet' session with fans at a Bangor Nightclub this week.

Max George, best known for being in 'The Wanted', will also be putting on a live performance when he pays a visit to Cube Nightclub on Wednesday night (November 14).

The 30-year-old originally started out as a footballer at Preston North End but after suffering a career-ending injury, he decided to pursue a life in the music industry.

He then made his singing debut with the band Avenue before becoming a member of the highly successful The Wanted in 2009 with singles such as 'All Time Low' and 'Glad You Came' proving to be hits worldwide.

He gained international fame whilst singing alongside fellow band mates Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes.

Since leaving the wanted, George has launched a solo career, with hit song 'Barcelona' recently featuring in the charts.

"We are very excited to have Max George coming to visit us," A Cube spokesperson said.

"We are anticipating a huge event, so we would suggest that people get down here early to avoid disappointment."

George is set to become the latest in a long list of recognisable faces to appear at Cube in recent months - with the likes of reality TV stars Katie Price and Stephen Bear and entertainer Paul Chuckle having also visited.
