THE RNLI Lifeboat at Beaumaris was called out to investigate after it was thought a woman was stuck in sand in the Menai Bridge coastal area on Thursday.
The volunteer crew launched the lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington, at 11.30am.
They searched intensively along with the North Wales Police, Bangor and Penmon Mobile Coastguard Rescue Team and the Coast Guard Mud Rescue Team.
No one was seen on the sand, however, the police located a woman in the woods nearby.
As a result, the UK Coastguard instructed the lifeboat to return to station.
The lifeboat was recovered at Beaumaris at 12.20 pm, and was washed down, refuelled and prepared for her next service call by 12.50pm.
