A HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED fireworks display on Anglesey has had to be postponed for a week as "storms and high winds" are expected to hit the area over the weekend.
The display at Beaumaris was all set to take place on Saturday night, however, organisers have decided to call it off due to the weather forecast issued by the Met Office.
"Due to the forecast of storms and high winds it is with regret that the Beaumaris Bonfire Committee have decided to postpone the bonfire and firework event," a spokesperson said.
"The event will now take place next Saturday (November 10) with the same timings."
Beaumaris Town Band will open the event at 5pm before the bonfire is lit at around 7pm and the fireworks display takes place at 7.30pm.
Live music will also take place before and after the display.
According to the Met Office, Beaumaris and the surrounding area is set to see heavy downpours from around 3pm on Saturday, as well as strong winds of more than 50mph.
