A MAN was rescued by firefighters and treated by paramedics after a blaze at a house on Anglesey.

The man was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital after the fire at the home in Llanddona.

The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called at 3.58am and fire crews from Beaumaris and Menai Bridge attended the scene.

A fire service spokesman said: "Crews from Beaumaris and Menai Bridge were called to reports of a house fire in Llanddona, near Beaumaris at 3.58 this morning.

"One man was rescued from the property and was treated and the scene by paramedics before being transferred to hospital. Investigations into the cause of the fire are now underway."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today, on Thursday, October 25, at approximately 4am, to reports of a fire at an address in Llanddona, Anglesey.

"We responded with one rapid response vehicle and one emergency ambulance, where one person was taken to Gwynedd Hospital, Bangor."
