A 29-year-old joiner has today (Saturday) been granted bail on charges of dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident on the A499 in Gwynedd in which a man was seriously injured.
James Leach of Oak Road, Chelford, Macclesfield, appeared in custody at a special court at Llandudno. No pleas were entered.
It followed a 5am collision yesterday between a pick-up vehicle driven by Leach and a VW van near Penygroes.
Leach will next appear in court at Caernarfon on Thursday. Conditions of bail are that he does not enter North Wales except to attend court, doesn’t drive and doesn’t contact witnesses.
Sarah Marsh, prosecuting, said the other driver Mr Ifan Price was in hospital with multiple injuries.
Nicola Jones, defending, said Leach was a family man with his own joinery business. He had been working at Abersoch.
