TWO Bangor kick boxers have won three gold and two silver medals in the World Martial Arts Championship at Albufeira, Portugal.
Kick Boxers and friends Jack Reece Jones and Billy Jones, both aged 15, had represented Wales at the Championship.
Jack added three Gold Medals to the British and European titles he already holds, and Billy won two silver medals.
The pair only started kickboxing earlier this year at The Dog House gym in Bangor.
Both fighters trained intensively for the previous 10 weeks, including early morning runs at 4.00am followed by circuit training before attending school at Ysgol Tryfan. During the evenings they trained from 4.00 and 8.00pm, under the watchful eye of 19 times World Champion Darryl Gallagher, their coach.
Darryl said: “I think it’s time an elite squad of fighters from North Wales be brought together, to compete in these championships, representing Wales and winning titles”
He hopes to have the squad in place ready for next year’s championships to be held in Greece.
