HEARTLESS thieves have targeted a charity shop which raises money to help people with cancer.

Bangor police officers are appealing for information from the public after a break-in at the Cancer Research shop on the High Street.

Sometime between 6pm,Thursday, and 8am Friday morning (October 5), an unknown offender or offenders broke in after kicking through the back door.

They knocked down a security camera before opening the till.

No cash was kept inside the till and they then left the shop empty handed.

PC Lisa Thomas from the local policing team said: “I am disgusted that someone would stoop so low as to burgle a charity shop and we are committed to doing everything we can to trace those responsible.

“Whilst our enquiries continue to identify those responsible, I would encourage anyone who may have any information or anybody who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the vicinity to come forward and contact us as soon as possible.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact North Wales Police quoting reference number W141798.

The shop has note on the door saying it is currently closed but may open later this afternoon.
