FIREFIGHTERS were called to attend the scene of a fire at a car park in Bangor in the early hours of this morning.

The blaze occurred at a car park near Mount Street at around 4.55am.

A spokesperson for the North Wales Fire and Rescue service (NWFRS) said: "We believe the fire may have been started deliberately.

"One hose and one breathing apparatus was used to extinguish the fire and nobody was hurt during the incident."

NWFRS are now conducting a joint investigation alongside North Wales Police.

A spokesperson for the latter said: "We received a call from the fire service reporting a vehicle on fire in the car park off Mount Street in Bangor.

"A joint investigation is now under way as the fire is believed to have been started deliberately."
