APPRENTICES from Babcock International Group are celebrating after starting permanent jobs at RAF Valley.

The group recently gathered with representatives from Babcock's Grwp Llandrillos Menai business branch to celebrate their success.

The 15 youngsters were the very first to sign up to the Aeronautical Engineering apprentice scheme and were all offered a contract at RAF Valley as a result of their hard work.

Also celebrating the completion of their apprenticeships and securing permanent posts were three HADES general engineering apprentices who completed a three year apprenticeship.

In 2016, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Babcock signed a memorandum of understanding which agreed to work together to train 33 aeronautical engineers over a three-year period until 2020.

The 15 apprentices who have just graduated into permanent employment are the first group to complete this programme.

Neal Misell, managing director of Babcock’s UK Military Air business commented: "We are very proud of the achievements of our Apprentices.

"My challenge to them now is for this to represent the start of great careers within Babcock. We look forward to watching them develop further over the coming years."
