A GLITZY cabaret is set to entertain theatre-goers in Caernarfon for one night only next week.

From 7.30pm on Friday, September 14, ‘Aberration’, which has built up a cult following over five years in Aberystwyth, will bring its unique combination of circus, comedy and camp to Galeri.

The thoroughly-entertaining evening, suitable for over 16s, will star Anglesey’s witty drag queen Maggi Noggi (as seen on S4C’s ‘Salon’), and gypsy swing jazz quartet Chocolat.

There will also be aerial rope wizardry from Sadiq Sadiq, lively spoken word, sassy burlesque and even a spot of sing-along.

There is a gay slant to the show, but everyone is welcome, as the organisers explain.

"It’s a fabulous night with an LGBT bite," says compere Helen Sandler of SpringOut, a small Mid Wales events company that co-programmes Aberration.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming anyone who’s ready for something a bit different – whatever their own gender or orientation may be."

The show is part of Aberration on Tour – funded by a grant from the Arts Council of Wales, Welsh Government and National Lottery – which has been a hit at L Fest in Llandudno, Aberystwyth Arts Centre and the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff Bay.

Tickets for Aberration in Caernarfon are on sale now from Galeri at £10 in advance, £12 on the night, either online or by phone: www.galericaernarfon.com or 01286 685 222.
