A WOMAN has been airlifted to Stoke Hospital with serious injuries following a head on crash between two vehicles in Gwynedd this morning.

An appeal for witnesses and information is being made following the collision.

At 09:52 this morning, police received a report by the Ambulance Service of a two-vehicle collision on the A497 in Llanystumdwy involving a blue Vauxhall Vectra and a white Mercedes.

One woman, who was a passenger in the Vectra was airlifted to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries. The male driver and two children were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by ambulance with what is believed to be minor injuries.

The male driver and passenger of the Mercedes were also taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by ambulance with what is believed to be minor injuries.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: “The road remains closed at this time whilst the Forensic Collision Investigation Team carry out an examination of the scene.

“We are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have seen either vehicle being driven prior to the collision to contact us.”
