ONE-man crimewave David Valencia, who’s amassed 460 offences in half a century, was jailed for 15 weeks on Wedneday after leaving his blood and a £1,776 repair bill when he damaged a caravan window.

A family were considering selling their static caravan at Benllech, Anglesey, because of what happened, magistrates at Llandudno heard. He has to pay for the damage – at £5 a week.

The pensioner, 68, who lived locally in Anglesey, admitted criminal damage and breaching a criminal behaviour order when he swore repeatedly on his arrest. Prosecutor James Neary said Valencia’s record went back to 1966.

The damage occurred in February. Mr Neary said someone had broken into the caravan and cut themselves. It was the blood that linked Valencia.

Defence solicitor Huw Roberts said Valencia claimed to be off drink and drugs and to have a job offer as a groundworker at Bangor. “His feeling is he’s doing better now than he has in the last 20 years. He’s making headway in the right direction,” the lawyer maintained. He would like his name in the Press as someone who had turned around his life.
