A man whose picture had been taken when he was caught burgling student accommodation at Bangor was jailed for 26 months on Friday.
Michael Thomas, aged 32, of Craig y Don Road, Bangor, admitted burglary with intent to steal early on the evening of June 15 and criminal damage by soiling a police cell and spitting in a police van.
Caernarfon crown court heard Thomas had previously been jailed after assaulting an Ysbyty Gwynedd nurse by throwing a bottle of urine.
Myles Wilson, defending, said Thomas had a heroin problem previously but had been clean of the drug for the last six months.
He claimed the burglary was committed “on impulse.”
But Judge Huw Rees said Thomas deliberately targeted the student accommodation.
Nothing was stolen “by sheer luck.”
