THE "Big Tea at Three" event held at the Hergest Unit of Ybsyty Gwynedd this week has managed to raise over £200.

The party was held as part of the NHS' 70th birthday celebrations.

The money raised from the well-attended afternoon at the Bangor-based hospital will be put towards improving social aspects of a patients journey through the mental health services.

There was tea and cake to be had throughout as members of the public, patients, former patients, staff and students all got together to celebrate.

Laura Burton from Time To Change attended the event and praised staff for their efforts.

"It’s been great to come back as a former service user to raise awareness and celebrate the fantastic work the NHS do; as it has saved my life," she said.

Dementia nurse Cara Jowitt added: "It was fantastic to bring together everyone in celebration of the NHS as it’s an institution that is there for us when we need it the most."
