WALES' beloved weatherman Derek Brockway will be heading to various locations in north Wales when the eleventh series of Weatherman Walking airs this month.

Derek, star of the popular BBC Wales series, will be seen visiting Cadair Idris, Llyn Cau and Snowdonia on July 20 and the Llyn Peninsula on August 3 when new episodes are aired.

In Snowdonia, Derek goes wild swimming in Llyn Cau with expert Gabby Dickinson, as well as summiting the range’s highest peak Pen y Gadair in what he says is one of the biggest challenges he’s taken on on the show to date.

During his trip to the Peninsula, he will be joined by Alarm frontman Mike Peters' wife Jules as they walk from Porth Ysgaden to Porth Dinllaen and stop for a spot of seal watching along the way.

Elsewhere Derek and his guests search for Triassic tracks in Sully, walk in the footsteps of one of history’s most famous sopranos in Brecon and feed a herd of rare White Park Cattle who have inhabited Dinefwr Park for over 1,000 years.

Speaking on what was another successful tour of Wales during his series, Derek said: "It was great to lace up my walking boots and discover more of Wales’ wonderful walks.

"From fossil hunting in Sully to wild swimming in Snowdonia, the new series sees me explore an array of locations and unearth the history that surrounds them."
