THE Arfon MP Hywel Williams has praised firefighters for helping to keep "communities safe" after a spate of fires in the area.
He said: "I am extremely grateful for all the work of our dedicated firefighters here in Arfon, police and partner organisations who have been working tirelessly under very challenging conditions to keep these fires contained and their support to local residents.
"Local teams have been working through the night to bring fires in Carmel, Bethesda and Bangor Mountain under control, battling against tinder dry ground conditions and winds.’
"We are indebted to them for all their hard work in keeping local residents, property and our communities safe.
The Plaid Cymru MP went on to urge local residents to "listen to the advice provided by the emergency services" and to "act on their instructions."
