AN inquest was formally opened on Tuesday afternoon into the death of an RAF engineer when a Red Arrows jet crashed at a Welsh airbase.
North West Wales senior coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones at Caernarfon adjourned the inquest into the death of Corporal Jonathan Harvey Bayliss, 41, in March.
He said the Ministry of Defence conduct their own inquiries and he was unlikely to receive the result of them within the next twelve months.
Corporal Bayliss was killed when the Hawk T1 aircraft he was flying in crashed on a runway at RAF Valley in Anglesey on March 20.
A police investigation and a service Inquiry into the crash has begun. The pilot survived after ejecting from the plane.
