THE ENTERTAINING Bangor Carnival will return to the High Street this weekend.

The annual event, organised by Bangor Community Group, will see hundreds of people march through the city from 11am on Saturday morning.

The Carnival parade leaves Sackville Road at that time before making its way down the High Street.

It will then head towards James Street, following around Cube night club and back up the High Street to finish at the clock.

The 2018 parade has a circus theme and, as in years gone by, includes a mix of diverse colour, culture and fun with Bloc Swn leading the march.

Speaking ahead of the event, a spokesperson for the Bangor Community Group: "We are a dedicated, small group of volunteers and we have worked tirelessly to stage this event,"

"The whole community are invited to come to the High Street on Saturday, to cheer on the parade and enjoy a fun filled day with our fellow citizens, where there will be various entertainment throughout the day."

The retinue for the 2018 carnival was chosen at a Crowning Ceremony at Bangor University on May 30.

Queen Libby accepted the Crown this time around, having been the Princess last year.

Princess Miley, Rosebud Daisy, Petal Sera make up the rest of the Court's retinue.

They will be accompanied by Libby’s attendants, Amy, Grace, Honey, Pageboy Archie and flowergirl Mollie along with Miley’s attendants, Ruby & Roxy and flowergirl Seren.

The Bangor Community Group confirmed that this year's carnival parade will include plenty of stalls and floats, lively walkers and the ever-popular funfair situated at the Hen Glan car park.

"Let's come together with positivity and passion and bring our City to life this Saturday," the spokesperson said.

"We look forward to seeing you there."
