A conclusion of accidental death was recorded on a musician and adventurer who was thought to have slipped and fallen more than 60ft on 3,000ft Tryfan in Snowdonia.
Iwan Pritchard Huws, 34, of Rhosgadfan, Caernarfon, died instantly in the fall on greasy ground on the West Face, although equipped properly, an inquest at Caernarfon heard.
Mountain rescuers found him on a scree slope 300ft below the top of a gully.
Coroner Nicola Jones said :”It’s more likely than not this was a simple slip on very unforgiving terrain.”
The musician and experienced mountaineer loved the outdoors and travelled across the world including in Nepal.
