A COMMUNITY arts scheme linking eight Anglesey villages has been unveiled.
The Bro Aberffraw art and leisure trail project was designed to involve as many local residents as possible. The eight villages are: Bethel, Llangristiolus, Llangaffo, Dwyran, Newborough, Malltraeth, Hermon and Aberffraw.
A large board was erected in each village and residents were asked to produce art work to be displayed in miniature on the board. In total more than 400 pieces of art work were produced for the eight boards. Each board featured a tree to link the individual pieces of art work.
Project coordinator Chris Bowler said: “Adults were asked to sketch or paint local scenes; children produced pictures of activities which interested them, or to draw or paint self portraits.”
She added: “More than 2,000 copies of a map showing the location of all the boards on the trail, has been printed and are available in local businesses.”
