POLICE are trying to trace a couple who assisted a cyclist who was seriously injured following a collision on Anglesey this week.

Shortly before 12:45pm, on Wednesday, May 23, police were notified of a one-vehicle collision involving a bicycle on an unclassified road between Aberffraw and Hermon.

The 66-year-old cyclist was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by ambulance and he currently remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Officers are keen to trace a couple, who are aged in their 60’s and who live in or around the Holyhead area, who assisted at the scene.

Sergeant Meurig Jones of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We believe the couple spoke with an Irish accent, but they live in or around the Holyhead area. We are keen on speaking to them and would ask that they contact us on 101 quoting reference number W067480 immediately.”
