WELSH Lamb is to take centre stage at this Saturday's Caernarfon food festival.

A North Wales chef and social media sensation has been announced as one of this year’s 'Lambassadors,' as he prepares to wow the crowds at G?yl Fwyd Caernarfon.

Chris ‘Foodgasm’ Roberts will be bringing his now infamous ‘Asado’ barbecue to the event on Saturday, May 12. The festival is held throughout the historic town.

The Gwynedd-based barbecuing guru has taken Facebook by force barbecuing his way around North Wales, producing his own seasoning for meats, and featuring regularly on S4C’s popular digital service, Hansh. He has his own unique Argentine cooking style using an Asado barbecue, shaped like an iron cross. The 33-year-old said: “Cooking is what I love to do and when you have such a great ingredient as Welsh Lamb, nothing can beat it. You don’t get much better than Snowdonia mountain lamb."

Chris will be cooking within Caernarfon Castle’s historic walls.

Nici Beech, chair of the Caernarfon Food Festival said: “Our festival, has grown remarkably over the past two years and it is great to see people like Chris, who feels so passionately about using Welsh produce.”
