COMEDIAN Shappi Khorsandi is back on tour with her 2017 sell-out Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, Mistress and Misfit.

She will be travelling to 50 venues across the UK this spring, including a date in Bangor.

Khorsandi who featured on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and has been a regular face on shows such as Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News for You and QI, will be stopping off at Pontio’s Theatr Bryn Terfel on Saturday, April 28.

In her latest tour, the comic presents England’s unsung heroine, Emma, Lady Hamilton.

For too many years she was just known Nelson’s mistress... a bit of a harlot, Khorsandi says, adding: “You get one job in a brothel and bang goes your reputation!

“Women’s lib wasn’t a thing in Georgian times. Emma moved mountains to haul herself from scullery maid to Lady Hamilton ... and yes, she occasionally danced naked on tables.”

Khorsandi is also a best-selling author, having released A Beginners Guide to Acting English in 2009, followed by her critically acclaimed debut novel, Nina Is Not OK, published by Ebury in July 2016 and released in paperback in February last year.

Apart from notching up numerous high-profile television appearances, Khorsandi has also had the honour of being nominated at the prestigious British Comedy Awards in the best female comic category, up against celebrated fellow nominees Jo Brand and Sarah Millican.

She has also appeared as a panel member on Loose Women and Question Time.

Tickets for the show are priced £13 to £15.

They are available from Pontio on 01248 382828 or viva www.pontio.co.uk

The show’s start time is 10pm.
