Six people - including four children - sustained injuries after a two-car crash on the A4085 in Gwynedd.

The crash happened just after 5.15pm on the A4085 betwen Caeathro and Waunfawr on Wednesday evening.

The incident involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Vauxhall Corsa that were travelling in the opposite direction to each other.

Four children aged between 10-years-old and six-months-old, who were travelling in the Meriva, were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by ambulance.

Two are believed to have sustained serious injuries.

The female drivers of both cars sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the Meriva was airlifted to hospital in Stoke with 'life-changing' injuries, while the driver of the Corsa was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd by ambulance.

The road was closed whilst officers from the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit carried out their initial investigation and was re-opened shortly before 11pm.

PC Eifion Jones of the Roads Policing Unit said: "We are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or to anybody who may have seen either vehicle being driven prior to the collision to contact us.

"Equally if anybody has any dash cam footage from their vehicle that may assist our investigation we’d ask you to please get in touch.”
