NORTH WALES Police are investigating after a man was assaulted in a house in Bangor.

The incident took place in Plas Llwyd Terrace at around 5pm on Wednesday, December 20.

A 32-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the matter and has since been charged with causing actual bodily harm and remanded into custody.

Unfortunately, the assaulted man, 47-year-old Paul Jones, who lives at Plas Llwyd Terrace was admitted to hospital on Wednesday, December 20 as his condition appeared to be more serious.

He has since been transferred to Stoke hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Investigating Officer DS Arwel Hughes at Bangor CID said "Sadly the victims condition appears to have deteriorated, but he is being cared for by specialist medical staff and his family are with him.

"The victim was assaulted inside his home at about 5pm on Wednesday, December 20 and a man subsequently charged.

"However, we are eager to trace Mr Jones’ whereabouts from 9am on the Monday morning (Dec 18) until he was admitted in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor at approximately 1.30pm on Wednesday (Dec 20).

"I’m asking anyone who knows him or recognises the attached photograph, and saw him during this period to contact Police as soon as possible."
