A CONVICTED murderer who left a secure unit in Llanfairfechan has been found in London.
Richard Bracken, aged 48, was last seen leaving Bryn y Neuadd hospital in Llanfairfechan, at 11.35am on Monday, September 21.
He failed to return an hour later.
He was located this afternoon in London and is currently in police custody.
Supt Mark Pierce of North Wales Police said: “I would like to thank the public and the media for their support and co-operation throughout this significant policing operation.
“Anyone who may have information about this incident should call North Wales Police on 101.”
Bracken, formerly known as Richard Dennick, was convicted in 1982 of murdering Canon Alun Jones, the vicar of Llanberis.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board tweeted that they were pleased that Bracken has been found.
The Health Board is pleased to confirm that the patient Richard Bracken has been located and is in police custody in London.
