A SPECIALIST rescue dog team has been helping in the search for a man missing from Llandudno.

Rob Morris, team leader of the British International Rescue and Search Dogs (BIRD) team based at Llanfairfechan, was out with his team over the weekend searching for any trace of Michael Bryn Jones, 38, who is from the Llandudno area and has been missing since Sunday, April 3.

The rescue dog search team, which is made up of collies, a labrador and a spaniel, searched areas including Penrhyn Castle Aber Farm.

Mr Morris said: "There were seven of us and four or five dogs. We didn't find anything significant but we're planning to search other areas.

"I'd just say to people to keep their eyes open for anything unusual - if you see anything, contact the police."

Police have issued a fresh appeal following confirmed sightings of Mr Jones on the A55.

The latest sightings of 38-year-old Michael show him walking along the A55 between junctions 10 and 11 during the early hours of Sunday, April 3.

Temporary Chief Inspector Mark Armstrong explained: “The latest CCTV images confirm that a male matching Michael’s description was seen walking along the A55. We are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling along the road between junctions 9 (Treborth) and 12 (Talybont), from 3.30am through to 7am on Sunday 3rd April, and may have spotted a man walking on either side of the carriageway.”

Michael is described as being 5’11” tall, of slim build with light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white beanie hat with three horizontal black lines above the brim, a blue fleece, the body of which is sky blue with darker blue arms and has a white emblem or brand name on the left hand side of the chest area. He was also wearing light coloured trousers, possibly jeans.

Michael’s mother, Eileen Slinn, last week issued a heartfelt plea urging her son to get in touch and let his family know that he is safe and well, and posters have distributed around the region.

Previous CCTV images have shown Michael at a convenience store on the High Street in Bangor during the early hours of Sunday, April 3.

CI Armstrong added: “Our inquiries are ongoing and we are becoming increasingly concerned for Michael’s whereabouts, and would ask people who may have been travelling on the A55 between these key times, to recall whether they may have sighted Michael and have some key information that may assist us.”
