A MADCHESTER legend and a group of Welsh comedy rappers will lead the return of K-Fest to Rhyl this summer.

Now in it's second year, the three day event starts at the Events Arena on Friday, July 31.

Comprising of three, distinctly themed events, the first raft of acts have been revealed for the Saturday, August 1 Indie / Old Skool/ Classics event, and will feature Cardiff hip hop act Goldie Lookin Chain, Britpop band Cast and Happy Mondays' personality Bez in the main arena headlining slot.

Kareem Ghani, founder of the festival alongside friend John Marchbank, said: "I'm over the moon that K-Fest is not only happening again, but because of the support we received from the public and the local authority. it's been so positive and gives us a lot of excitement, not just for this year but the future.

"We hope this is going to continue to be the beginning of bigger and better events for Rhyl.

"We're really about the lineup and to share the quality of Cast in particular in a live performance for Rhyl. We're really proud too to have Goldie Lookin Chain coming too, we think they'll bring some comedy to the line-up."

Also appearing on the main stage are North Walian indie four-piece The Montagues, Mancunian three-piece the DDE's and Leeds based five-piece The Common View.

The event will also feature two other stages, with noughties dance star - and Castles in the Sky hitmaker - Ian Van Dahl, K-Klass and Stu Allan the first acts confirmed for the 'Old School' arena, while The Oasis Experience and Ska Riad will rock up to the 'Local Legends' arena.

More acts are to be announced for the Saturday event, with the line ups for the Friday and the Sunday expected to be revealed later this month.

Mr Ghani added: "This year we're going to be building and increasing the dance classics - watch this space."

Early bird tickets are available now, and are priced at £22.50 plus booking fees. There are also 'Early Bird VIP (Upgrade)' tickets available for £12.50 fees. Sales end on Wednesday, April 1 when standard tickets go on sale.
