A NIGHT of music will be lined up for fans in a village setting before Christmas.

The Bram Taylor Band will be appearing at Llandegla Memorial Hall on Saturday, December 14 (8pm).

Popular Fellside recording artist Bram Taylor has a wealth of experience having established a fine reputation both here and abroad, performing at folk festivals, folk clubs, arts centres and other concert venues in the UK, USA, Canada and Europe.

He engages audiences with his fine rich voice, relaxed stage presence and entertaining sense of humour, performing an excellent selection of both traditional and contemporary material.

Bram sings a cappella and also plays guitar, duet concertina and baritone ukulele.

With a constantly healthy gig sheet, annual tours of the USA and appearances at the 2007 and 2009 Mariposa Folk Festival in Canada - alongside Don McLean, Gordon Lightfoot and The Proclaimers), Bram continues

to be a constantly reliable and entertaining performer.

Bram is Fellside Records’ longest serving artist with 10 solo albums and almost an equivalent number of compilation recordings to his credit. Fellside Records recently awarded Bram a long service award in recognition of his long association with them for over 35 years.

His latest Fellside CD‘Jokers & Rogues’ has been well received by the British folk music press.

The other two fine musicians in the Bram Taylor Band are the immensely talented Nick Peake and Dave Howard.

Nick and Dave met at the BBC in the 70s - Nick was a TV studio director and Dave a sound engineer, but what brought them together was a love of music.

They formed a Beatles tribute band with other work colleagues, and

discovered a shared interest in folk and acoustic music.

They're both extremely talented multi-instrumentalists.

Dave plays just about everything that has strings - he's a fine lead guitar player, and for more than 20 years has played mandolin with well-

known Lancashire folk group The Oldham Tinkers.

Nick has established a reputation locally as a solo singer, and plays bass guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and when at home, a beautiful baby grand piano.

Doors open at 7.30pm on December 14 and admission to the Llandegla All Styles Music Club Christmas event is £7.50.

Tickets are available from Llandegla Community Shop, or from 01978 790671 / evans.llandegla@gmail.com
