AS A FORMER star of Coronation Street, Loose Women and Benidorm, Sherrie Hewson surely needs no introduction.
While the same could be said for the paradigmatic panto Sleeping Beauty, Hewson's incredible bawdy charm will present an essential take on the seasonal staple when it arrives in Venue Cymru from Saturday, December 7.
No stranger to North Wales - having close family ties to Llandudno and Conwy - Hewson will bring the panto prowess of an 18 year veteran and a love for the setting for what is sure to be a dazzling turn - alongside favourites dame Nigel Ellacott and Kieran Powell - as kindly Nurse Temple Savage.
Indeed, in the run up to the show, Hewson has been spreading her excitement with pupils of Ysgol Deganwy, for a journey through the history of the quintessentially British tradition that is Panto.
Expect Hewson to bring the same energy and star power to show, if not some of the mementoes from her TV career such as the infamous water-bed from her hilarious turn with Corrie costar Ken Morley.
"I don't write the script, but I might throw a few things in
"A water-bed in the panto would fit Sleeping Beauty, because she does go to sleep! Somebody could come an pierce it - although I'm not sure Nigel will be happy."
You can catch Sleeping at Venue Cymru until Sunday, December 29.
Tickets start at £19.50, to book and for showtimes visit venuecymru.co.uk or call the box office on 01492 872000.
