ECLECTIC classics will shortly be in the offing from a London-based musical group.

The Asaph Ensemble of London will shortly pay a visit to a host of North Wales venues.

The ensemble is a group of Christian musicians, led by David Hooke.

He studied conducting with Harry Newstone and Vilem Tausky at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and was awarded the Ricordi Conducting Prize while studying on the advanced conducting course.

He conducted choral and orchestral societies in Southend and Bishops Stortford before becoming a Christian, after which he went to study at London Bible College.

The Asaph Ensemble will be appearing at Gloddaeth Church, Llandudno on Monday, May 27, while they will be at St Mary's & All Saints Church, in Conwy, on Thursday, May 30 (7.30pm).

This will be followed by an appearance at the United Church in Rhyl on May 31 (7.30pm) and Prestatyn Parish Church (7pm).
