AN AWARD-winning Rhyl theatre troupe have triumphed once again in competition.

Following on from their success at the Clwyd Festival of Full Length Plays last September with their productions of Terry Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters and John Osborne’s The Entertainer, the Rhyl Liberty Players have now repeated this achievement with a one act play.

At the Clwyd Heats of the All Wales One Act Festival at Theatr Clwyd, the 76 year old group clinched the award for the Most Outstanding Production with their production of All By Myself.

Written by Robert Scott and directed by Stroma Williams, the play also won the Award for Best Presentation and from the cast, Craig Semple won the Best Supporting Actor Award, John Daly was nominated for the Best Actor Award, and Amanda Priestley nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Award.

TheLiberty Players will now seek to qualify for the All Wales Final at Theatr Clwyd on the Friday, June 7 and Saturday 8, where the winner of that will represent Wales in the British Final at Harrogate for the honour of becoming the British Champion.
