RHYL Music Club's Christmas concert will see the Welsh Chamber Orchestra (WCO) usher in the festive season.

This Christmas instalment of the club’s International Concert Series 2018/19 will see the expertise of Glyndwr University's resident chamber orchestra light up Rhyl Town Hall on Wednesday, December 12.

The WCO was founded in 1986 and has performed in all the major venues throughout Wales as well as touring in Germany, Belgium, and France, performing a wide repertoire of music ranging from the Baroque through the Classical and Romantic periods to the present day.

The orchestra has recorded many programmes for S4C and HTV including the New York Film Festival prizewinning series 'The Story and the Song'.

A regular visitor to Rhyl in recent years, musical director Anthony Hose is a major supporter of Rhyl Music Club.

The evening will also rising viola star Ynyr Pritchard.

Club chairman David Birch said: "Last year we were able to incorporate a piano concerto with young artist, Ellis Thomas, in our Christmas concert.

"Young musicians and our commitment to them are a vital part of our role as a music club so it is with great pleasure that we plan to include a Telemann viola concerto this year to be performed by the latest Muriel Lewis Young Musician awardee, Ynyr Pritchard from Caernarfon."
