Brian Rowlands - - Brian Rowlands died peacefully at his home in Melrose

Brian Rowlands - - Brian Rowlands died peacefully at his home in Melrose, Massachusetts, USA on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the age of 60. Born at Holyhead, Brian was the youngest son of Evan (Evie) Rowlands MBE and Catherine Rowlands and the brother of Allan Rowlands and Ann Hillier. The family lived at 2 Hawthorne Terrace, Holyhead, where Brian was brought up in a close-knit family. He attended Thomas Ellis School and Holyhead County Secondary School, where he excelled both academically and at sports. He went on to graduate from London University.
Brian first worked in London then France and Canada, before moving to the United States in 1987, living in Melrose for the past 25 years. He was Vice President of Bovis Lend Lease International of Boston and a Fellow of the British Chartered Institute of Building. Brian loved family life, was a great photographer and enjoyed travelling. He gained much satisfaction from working with his hands and tending his garden. Throughout his illness he continued to enjoy life, spending quality time with family and friends and actively pursuing his hobbies and interests.
Brian was the devoted husband of Katharine (Kate), with whom he shared 35 happy years of marriage. He was the loving father of Tom and his wife Beth, Nick and Emily; cherished grandfather of Evan and Lily Rowlands; loving brother of Allan Rowlands and his wife Pat and Ann Hillier and her husband Barry; a caring uncle to Sharon, Peter, Martyn and Ben and their children Evelyn, Heather, Alfie, Harrison, Liam and Mikkel.
Brian�s interment took place at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose on 13 November following a Celebration of his Life. Memorial contributions in Brian's memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445, USA.
