IMPROVING St Asaph City returned to Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One action with an impressive 3-2 success at Mynydd Llandegai.

The Saints have enjoyed a fine run of form since the turn of the year, which sees them sit in ninth spot with seven games of the season remaining.

An even opening to proceedings was turned on its head when Jordan Owen netted the opener for the away side on 41 minutes, but Steve Tindall took advantage of some hesitant defending immediately following the restart to level matters on 42.

After the break saw the visitors restore their slender advantage when Jake Walker further highlighted his immense promise with a superb finish on 56, but they were pegged back shortly after once again courtesy on an Andy Barker strike midway through the half.

The end-to-end nature of the game continued and City got their noses in front for a third and final time on 72 minutes when Walker fired in his brace, and they managed to see out the remainder of the game to secure just their second away victory of the campaign.

Division Two side Meliden bounced back from their midweek defeat to Prestatyn Sports with an emphatic 6-0 rout at Llannerchymedd.

Matthew Griffiths was the star of the show for the visitors once again and managed to secure a hat-trick as a result of his efforts, while Chris Marsden backed up the prolific forward well with a two-goal salvo.

The other goal on the day came from Paul Melbourne, and the result propels Meliden into ninth position.
