CONWY Borough restored their Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One advantage with a narrow 3-2 win at Llanrug United.

The Tangerines boosted their promotion hopes with a fantastic victory on their travels, and they opened the scoring on the half-hour mark through a fine finish from in-form midfielder Leigh Craven.

This got even better for Gareth Thomas’ side just after the break when the prolific Dean Seager doubled their advantage on 47 minutes, before Jamie Roberts finished off a fine team move with a third on 58.

A nervy end to proceedings was ensured when the home side pulled two goals back through Gavin Jones and John Sadler on 76 and 80 minutes, but Boro’ managed to hold on for a vital three points.

There was further good news for the long-time leaders as title rivals Llandudno Albion and Llangefni Tow shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate.

Dan Evans produced a fine finish to put the hosts ahead on 55 minutes, but they were denied a win soon after when Jack Williams headed home a leveller on 65.

Llanrwst United also lost ground in the race for the title as they were downed 4-2 at home by Mynydd Llandegai.

Aaron Hughes and Mike Lundstram netted for the Rwsters, who were undone by two last minute goals from Alwyn Roberts and Wyn Morris in the reverse.

Division Two leaders Glan Conwy suffered a major blow to their title hopes as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Bodedern Athletic.

Jamie Jones gave the hosts a slender advantage on 77 minutes, but two quick-fire strikes from Stephen Whittaker and Gareth Torr condemned them to a loss, with Prestatyn Sports reducing the gap and also have eight games in hand.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix continued their disappointing run with a 2-0 loss at Gaerwen, while a Tom Clarke finish was not enough for Mochdre Sports in their 2-1 defeat to Llannefydd.
