CAERNARFON heaped more misery on WRU National League Division One North basement dwellers Colwyn Bay with a 39-3 home triumph.

The hosts took control of the contest early on when Aled Jones despatched two penalties in quick succession following a series of infringements, and things got even better soon after when a clearance fell into the path of Carwyn Roberts to run in untouched from 50 metres. Jones added the extras.

Bay got some reward when Henry Morris slotted over the penalty in what turned out to be their only points of the game, but this joy proved to be short lived as Carwyn Roberts squeezed over for the Cofis after good work from Elis Roberts, with Jones drilling the conversion.

Roberts went from provider to scorer just before the break when he produced a scintillating run before touching down, and Jones maintained his perfect record with the boot with another two points.

After the break saw the home side get their bonus point try after a prolonged spell of phases which resulted in Dafydd Lloyd Williams narrowly going over, and after a disappointing spell midway through the second period Caernarfon managed to score again on 70 minutes when a surging run from Adam Thomas set up Mike Downey for an easy touch down. Jones once again converted from a difficult angle to close the scoring.
