LLANGEFNI turned in a polished display to come away with a 24-14 win at Ruthin.

The visitors withstood some early pressure early on but managed to take the lead on 17 minutes when Tom Owen went over for an unconverted score.

This was followed by another try which came through fly half Greg Horsman, who intercepted a wayward pass for an easy touch down that Rhys Hughes converted.

The home side re-imposed themselves on the clash and got their first points on the board on 30 minutes when Alex Pope finished off a surging drive, with Nathan Jones firing over the extras.

After the break saw the hosts go ahead for the first time when second row Deian Lloyd Williams crashed over following a brief spell of dominance, with Jones despatching the conversion.

Cefni rallied once again and were rewarded for their improved play when another errant pass was picked up by Richie Foulkes, who demonstrated his pace to dive across the line.

The final nail in the coffin arrived on 75 minutes from a penalty awarded to the visitors on the half way line, and from the resulting line out, flanker Paul Magee nipped over for a bonus point try. Full-back Carwyn Milburn converted added the extras to complete the scoring.
