TWO Bangor teenagers will represent Wales in the World Martial Arts championship at Albufeira, Portugal in September.
Both Jack Jones and Billy Jones, aged 14, have already won gold and bronze kickboxing medals respectively, at the British Championships as well as qualifying for the World Championships.
Both boys beat more experienced fighters on the way to their medals.
They started training at the Dog House Kickboxing Club in Bangor only five months ago, and have been taking part in competitions for just three months.
In this time they have scooped four gold, a silver and two bronze medals in competitions across the country.
Although not related they both attend Ysgol Tryfan in Bangor.
The owner of the club Darryl Gallagher, who has won the world kickboxing championship 19 times, said: “I am amazed at the enthusiasm and dedication they both show, they are always outside waiting for me to open the club.
"If they keep on this track and maintain their commitment, they both have the potential to become world champions.”
He added the club is trying to raise money to help fund the boys’ trip to represent Wales in the world's championship in September and have started a go fund page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/representingwalesbangor?utm_id=106&utm_term=BYy4krWpA.”
The Dog House runs various classes ranging from children’s, women’s kickercise to competitive kickboxing as well personal sessions.
