A YOUNG Anglesey sailor produced a fantastic effort to come away with success from a national event.
Eloise Edwards and partner Amy Bale secured the Girls’ U17 category at the RYA Youth National Championships, which were held at Largs Sailing Club last weekend.
The duo, who were competing in the 29er class, held their nerve in very challenging sailing conditions including hail storms and sub-zero temperatures to finish as narrow winners of the competition after a hotly contested affair.
Both are members of South Caernarfonshire Yacht Club and Pwllheli Sailing Club and train and compete at various venues across the UK including National Sailing Centre at Weymouth.
Prior to the competition, the RYA had said these Welsh girls were the team to look out for, and they did not disappoint.
