RALLYING returns to Anglesey Circuit this month and brings with it a British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) legend.

Paul O’Neill will don his rally suit for the Legend Fires Lee Holland Stages which takes place on Sunday, March 18.

The former BTCC race-winner will make his second appearance in the 2017-18 Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship (MNCRC), having finished twenty-fifth overall.

He finished second in his class on the championship’s opening round in November; the 2017 Neil Howard Stages in association with Graham Coffey & Co. Solicitors.

While the Widnes-born driver, who is also the half-brother of Spice Girl Mel C will take to Anglesey for the first time, he will at least be able to tackle the eight rally stages in a familiar car.

He takes to the rally in a Paul Sheard prepared Mazda MX5, a car he used previously on his last rally outing.

"I’m so excited to be returning to the Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship," O'Neill said.

"When I last competed, it opened my eyes to how amazing rallying is. I probably had the most fun I’ve had in motorsport for a long, long time and I can’t thank Paul Sheard and his team enough for giving me another go.

"I really want to win the class this time around though."

O’Neil will be joined by over 50 competitors, including the leading MNCRC contenders, Chris West and Ian Woodhouse, and an eclectic mix of rallying machinery.

With a brand new sponsor this year, the Lee Holland Stages, organised by Pendle & District Car Club in conjunction with Preston & Garstang Motor Club, returns to Anglesey for the twenty-fifth time

Tickets for the event, starting at 8am are £10 for adults and under 16's are admitted free of charge. No animals are permitted at the venue.
