NEFYN United brought the curtain down on the season with a 4-2 extra-time victory over Bontnewydd to secure the North Wales Coast FA Cup.

United has a chance to go ahead early on when Guto Roberts was put clear, but his effort was smartly saved by Bont custodian Carl Jones.

Things then took a bizarre turn as a free-kick from the halfway line from Morgan Roberts somehow found its way over Alwyn Williams and into the net to give Bont an early advantage.

After the break saw United come out with a renewed sense of purpose and they levelled matters after 63 minutes when Mark Dunn produced a sensational piece of individual skill before slotting home.

This provoked a strong response from Bont, who went ahead once again soon after when Gwion Roberts turned into his own net following a neat period of possession.

United kept plugging away in search of a leveller, which arrived with virtually the last action of the allotted time when Dunn fired in his second of the showcase thanks to a stunning set-piece.

Both sides cancelled each other out for the majority of the additional 30 minutes, and with penalties looming large Roberts diverted a Dunn delivery into the corner on 117 to give United the lead for the first time.

Bont threw caution to the wind in the closing stages that left them exposed at the back, and Jones received his marching orders for handling outside the area following a quick counter-attack, before Dunn rounded off a superb day at the office with another free-kick to secure his treble and clinch silverware for the Gwynedd League side.
