A GROUP of talented young footballers from Holyhead have recently completed a treble of trophies this season.

Holyhead Hostpurs under 12's followed up their league and Jimmy Lawlor memorial cup successes by clinching the Gareth Williams memorial cup two weeks ago.

On Wednesday, May 30 goals from Shay Murphy, AJ Insen and Jaydon Owen saw the Hotspur youngsters beat Amwlch 3-0 to claim their third trophy of what has been an impressive season for them.

The under 12's had previously marched on to winning the league having lost just one game out of the 14 they played, finishing six points clear of the rest of the pack.

They then clinched the Jimmy Lawlor memorial cup by beating Llanfair PG 3-0 in the final thanks to goals from Shay Murphy, Kyle Roberts and Jaydon Owen.

The team, managed by Mark Queen, Andrew Murphy and Barry Jones, has had a season to remember and members of the club are proud of what their young stars have achieved.

"I think they need some recognition for what they have done here this season," A spokesperson for the club said.

"They have had a great season and I'm sure most of these players here will go on to have great footballing careers on the island and possibly beyond."
