CAERGYBI forward Gary Jo Owen hit EIGHT goals as his side hammered lowly Llandegfan 14-1 in the Quarter Finals of the Bwlch Car Boot Trophy last night.

The match, played at Millbank, saw what was probably the fastest Anglesey League goal of all time scored when Glenn North netted the opener after just seven seconds.

Another seven goals in the first half from North, Dewi Thomas, Dan Lowies and Gary Jo Owen (4) gave Dale Moffat's side an emphatic 8-0 lead at the break.

Owen added four more in the second half to take his tally for the season to 40 goals. Ashley Beck added the other two.

Llandegfan managed to pull a goal back when Geraint Roberts' pass found Dale Rowlands, who hit a fine shot in under the bar.

Incredibly, Owen didn't receive the Man of the Match award at full time. His brother, Liam Patrick Williams claimed the prize instead, having assisted seven goals and played a blinder.

Elsewhere on Tuesday night, Pentraeth Reserves fell to a 7-1 loss at home to Llangoed Reserves in a Kon-X Anglesey League fixture.

Wayne Thomas hit a hat-trick for Dewi Williams' side, before Shaun Morris scored a brace.

Rhys Jones and Martin Byast scored the other goals to complete the rout.
